California did galamsey.....years ago, and got its present status as the richest state in the US....and also about the 5th LARGEST ECONOMY in the world....have you heard of the FORTY NINERS? And do you know it is still called the GOLDEN STATE, with an economy GREATER than the so-called GREAT BRITAIN?
  
  The GOLD MUST BE DUG OUT. Just that we need to figure out better ways....such as replacing "the mercury" and others. I don't know what Californians used to dig out the gold. But it won't be IMPOSSIBLE to find out.
