The existence of Richard Jakpa would give birth to Ghana fufu; the ultimate destroyer in the foreseeable future

We have destroyed the very essence of young Ghanaian creativity, all because of stupid politics. What sense does it make to destroy businesses, including POLO BEACH CLUB, simply because the owners of the company are the sons of Hon. Freddie Blay, a former Deputy Speaker of Parliament, former Member of Parliament, a lawyer of over 50 years’ standing at the Bar, and former Chairman of the NPP?

I honestly do not think my children should suffer because I decided to play my part in the political ecosystem of our amazing Ghana.

I had an awesome opportunity through my business associates, whose visit to Ghana coincided with one of the boxing promotions organised by President Mahama’s lovely son. OH MY GRACIOUS GOD! What a beautiful spectacle!

The quality of work put into the event, I dare say, merited every penny spent and more. I wish this beautiful spectacle could be repeated every weekend or, perhaps, every month. Why not? I had absolutely no issue with a young Ghanaian, regardless of political affiliation, championing such a wonderful enterprise.

My prayer is that this young man will be supported by the state and the entire country, regardless of who is in power, because he is doing a good thing that has the potential to create wealth, generate employment, and position Ghanaian boxing positively on the global stage.

The question is, why should Chairman Freddie Blay’s children suffer because their father is a politician? WHY SHOULD PRESIDENT MAHAMA, THROUGH RICHARD JAKPA AND NATIONAL SECURITY, DESTROY POLO BEACH CLUB AND OTHER BUSINESSES BECAUSE OF POLITICS? This is such a terrible precedent.

Today, we are spending time and resources building a monster in the name of National Security, alias Richard Jakpa, in the same way President Mahama and the NDC created and bequeathed Kelvin Taylor to Ghanaians. Little did President Mahama and the NDC know that Kelvin Taylor’s conduct would start yielding beautiful fruits in the name of our deliciously beautiful Ghanaian delicacy, GHANA JOLLOF. Immediately the chicken started coming home to roost, we have hypothetically, started calling for an end to the politics of insults.

Kelvin Taylor was either applauded or funded by religious leaders, chiefs, politicians, some people from the business community, ordinary Ghanaians, professionals such as doctors, lawyers, teachers, and engineers, Members of Parliament, and some members of the Bench, including my Lord Agyemang Badu.

Businesses valued at over US$80 million, by conservative estimates, belonging to Ghanaians, and about 4,000 jobs have been destroyed by the hero of the NDC government and a favourite appointee of President John Dramani Mahama, RICHARD KWAME JAKPA.

Fellow countrymen and women, we should remember that politics in the 21st century has been designed to be an unforgiving enterprise. I can definitely foresee, in the foreseeable future, another human being or Ghanaian, perhaps calling himself or herself Ghana Fufu, the Destroyer, tearing down mining companies, fruit-processing plants, insurance companies, real estate companies, steel plants, cement factories, and so on, all in the name of paying back or atoning for the sins of Richard Jakpa, President Mahama, and the NDC government.

Definitely, this ugly cycle will continue unabated from generation to generation because one president watched as his appointee subjected businesspeople to one of the most horrific situations no businessman or woman would wish upon their worst enemy: waking up to the total destruction of their investments while the perpetrators continue to drink fine wine, sip champagne, and smoke top-of-the-range Cuban cigars. Simply because the law of the land is currently in the bosom of the NDC and its appointees.

Mr President, kindly deal with this matter like the father of the nation. Punish those who, through childish bravado, went on this expedition and destroyed the livelihoods of our compatriots.

Our tax cedis should not be used as compensation while the perpetrators continue to wine, dine, and smoke Cuban cigars in absolute peace. Please, do the needful for posterity.
