As you pointed out, road safety is a major responsibility of the government of the day to put in place the needed legislative frame work to ensure compliance and eventual reduction of road crashes.However, there is more to that in the sense that the responsibility is more of collaboration than government alone.Collaborative efforts are expected from the law makers, Police(MTTD,transport owners and drivers,Private transport unions,road constructors/maintainers(GHA&Urban Roads, NRSC, DVLA,The media, passengers and every indvidual including you and me.Every member of this collaborative group is expected to contribute meaningfully to derive an optimal goal congruence for the achievement of maximum road safety standards.One or more members can be seen contributing their quota but if others efforts are at abysmal levels road transport will continue to suffer from road crash dangers in this country.
