This ties into President Mahama's recently launched free primary health care initiative which many Ghanaians see as a major policy shift.
Most people focus on Hospitals and clinics when discussing health care access but shifting focus to schools is a smart because, as the post notes, basic school pupils spend 8 +hours daily there and shs boarding students basically lives there.
If primary health care is to be truly "primary " and preventive, schools are the front line. Over 6 million pupils are in basic primary.
I think the President should consider this.

This article is very thoughtful that must be considered by the government. Most preventive conditions are lately identified by school authorities since their ultimate focus is on academics. Parents spend barely valuable time with wards throughout the weekdays and could also easily miss preventive disease conditions which will make the PHC ineffective. Student nurses and other health back lock awaiting posting can be employed in the interim to contribute their quota towards this program and for that matter national success of the program.
Interesting perspective.
