Yes, nicely written, plenty words. Every one blames choked gutters. Choked drains. But take all accra drains, make them clean and divide the flood waters in them. What do you see? Excess. So the problem is not only or mainly gutters or drains choked. There are just too many roofs, my people and very littel empty spaces for run off water to percolate, sink into the ground. What can be done about this? Maybe breaking structures and compensating people.

A very well written article,a sad indictment on the current system of governance in the country.To quote a few lines from the article,”Water does not obey political affiliations.Floods do not respect social status.Nature eventually punishes indiscipline with ruthless impartiality”.There’s systemic institutional failure on the part of the government, past and present,so weak and ineffective that the situation has become normal and the authorities so insensitive and callous to the suffering of the citizens and the danger flooding poses to them.Kudos to a well written article.
