The author advocates for "Technocratic, Social and Developmental paradigm". He mentions "Tragedy of neoliberalism". But history of global development teaches it is only countries that followed the neoliberal world order of development like the "Baby Tigers" that have sustainable development. That order entails what is described as capitalism based on moderate profits.
How else can PURC price sustainably if their pricing is not based on cost? The best caution must be for PURC not to priced based on maximum profit for the utilities.
The author's path to industrial independence is laudable and it highlights his technocratic development paradigm. However, it should not be limited to industries alone. It should be extended to Government who should also invest in massive solar and microgrids development similar to the National Electrification Program, that sent grid power to all corners of the country, to bring technocratic cost and for that matter price reduction to the ordinary Ghanaian.
