  excellent write up. In Ghana we believe in creating institutions than having effective institutions. except the Presidency, all our institutions are weak. Our Presidents take advantage of this to the dole out political favors and get their favorites in positions. These appointees usually owe their allegiance to the president and the ruling party and do their bidding. Case in point the removal of the Chief Justice by Mr. Mahama and Charlotte Osei by Nana Addo even though these two women who headed so called independent government institutions did not commit crimes that required they removal, which should be the yardstick to remove leaders of independent bodies. We need a President who will reform our governance system to build truly independent and vibrant institutions devoid of politics. Our leaders in the 4th republic have failed us in that direction
