IN COURSE THE OTHER GHANAIAN'S SENTENCES, ONE OF THE AMERICAN FRIENDS INTERRUPTED US AND ASKED US(GHANAIANS) THIS QUESTION; "PLEASE I WANT TO ASK YOU A QUESTION. THEN WE SAID; "OH, GO ON." THE HE SAID; "WHILE YOU(THE TWO GHANAIANS) WERE CONVERSING, I REALISED THAT YOU WERE USING ENGLISH WORDS INTERTWINED WITH YOUR LOCAL SENTENCES. SO DON'T YOU HAVE YOUR OWN LOCAL WORDS FOR SUCH SENTENCES IN YOUR LANGUAGE." ? IT WAS A BIG INSULT AND A DISGRACE FOR US, ESPECIALLY ME. NEVERTHELESS, I ANSWERED HIM NICELY. I SAID TO HIM, THE AMERICAN, THAT, IT WAS BECAUSE OF COLONIZATION THAT IS WHY SOME AFRICANS SPEAK AS SUCH, ESPECIALLY GHANAIANS AND NIGERIANS IN PARTICULAR.
