Monogamy and Polygamy are all about sexual relations between beings who live in society.
Monogamy is about a man and woman owning each other having sex, procreating without the involvement of any other partner.
Polygamy is about a man owning two or more women with whom he has sexual relation on rotational basis. Its is also about procreation or the continuation of the human race biologically.
What some of us find about polygamy is that it put women at a disadvantage.
The matter is that its discriminatory favours a man who can have more than one wife.
But a woman cannot have more than one husband.
In countries were monogamy is accepted as a norm, men have the advantage of visiting brotels or other places where they pick up women and take them to wherever they want to have sex with them.
A man who have several sexual partners is not regarded by society to be a prostitute.
However a woman who is not married and have more than on sexual partner is call a prostitute.
In some African countries there are some rich women who are practicing polygamy, meaning some women have more than one husband, as the case is in some Eastern African countries and Nigeria.
It means that in such cases its the women who owns the men sexually and not the other way round.
In 1966 one of the rumors about Kwame Nkrumah and the CPP was that the state was going to build some big houses in which women will be accommodated for men to visit, have sex with them and go back to their homes.
The rumor went on to say that children born as a result of such relationship are to be state children, that there will not be a family and children.
Those people believe that Kwame Nkrumah was going to build a communist society, that communist society presuppose that the family will be abolished.
We live in an era of socialism, that the family exists in all socialist countries, that marriages in socialist countries are based on monogamy.
It is a fact that just like all human societies men and women in socialist societies, just like their counterparts in capitalist societies, though are monogamy married, but as humans who are biological and social beings have the biological aspect of their lives break the monogamy institution.
Human beings are complex social animals, that at times monogamy men and women at times fall in love with someone outside their marriage.
Let's explain here that in capitalist countries institutions like prostitution are created for men who want to have sex outside marriage or are single and want to satisfy themselves sexually.
In socialist countries prostitution is a crime, therefore men and women meet, have sex with each other without any financial profit accruing to the man or woman.
I was 14 years old when I read Friedrich Engels' "Origin of Family, Private Property and State".
Friedrich Engels wrote that book as a result of he reading Darwin's publications after his travel to the Pacific, where he meet tribes in the primitive stage of their development, where the family does not exist.
Looking at the rate of divorce around the world today, it could be possible that people or society will in the future accept a nonfamily society as a norm.

Polygamy is an anachronic cultural practice that has no place in today's marital system. This is a marital practice that is never recorded; and no records are ever made of the the ending of these polygamous marriages. It's nothing but an antiquated marital practice that affords men the luxury of having to take in brides at will and disposing of them at will, often causing to wife being divorced to leave the marital residence with her children in tow, and then later to struggle all by herself to fend for those children since customary practices do not have any requirements mandating the man to remain financially responsible for the children once they leave with their mothers. When a man gets tired of one wife with her many children, he simply drops the that wife and takes in a fresh wife. While Ghana society faults Western societies of having high divorce rates, it's safe to say that had cultural marriages and their endings been recorded, polygamous marriages would see a much higher divorce rate than the monogamous marriages of the West.
