This article is a piece of nonsense. The author thinks we were not in Ghana when this madness began. What falsehood has anybody disseminated so far? The author is silent on that. This propaganda, condoned by GhanaWeb will not soar far. It will rather stir the anger of well-meaning Ghanaians. Look, a personal pledge to be realised by the private sector at a time when Ghanaians were facing economic challenges was not a lie. The demolition of many residential and office buildings to pave the way for the cathedral was no lie. Payment of huge sums of money from state coffers on this project which has no budget line was no lie. Some religious leaders resigning from the board of trustees for want of transparency was no lie. The former Finance Minister spending from the contingency vote on the cathedral was no lie. The foundation works on which millions of dollars was spent is physically a swimming pool, no lie. Look, no need to continue this. GhanaWeb should tell us where this article is coming from. No nation wrecker can dissipate our funds and we will sit aloof and tolerate this kind of nonsense. Shame unto the author of the article.

It seems to me that it is Michael Kessey who is mis-representing the facts. The former president himself said the national cathedral was a fulfilment of a promise he made to God. A private promise. As far as I remember Ghanaians were not asked if they wanted their resources used to bring a cathedral in the midst of severe economic hardship. And who are the revered religious leaders on the Board he is talking about? You mean they are revered just because they gave themselves delusional titles like apostle or prophet. There was no justification for using national resources to fulfil a private promise. There still is none.

Akufo-Addo must be ashamed of himself for misusing God's name to waste Ghana's money on a worthless project based on his lie About making a personal pact with God to build God a national cathedral should he win the Presidential election. This incompetent Akufo-Addo can't claim to make personal pacts and then proceed to use public funds to finance his blatant deception and lies. That national cathedral project was intended to to be completed just before the national elections and to be used as a ruse to harvest Christian votes for Akufo-Addo's political party.

In not insulting me, do you build a national cathedral for me who is a non-believer?
Religion must be the concern of the individual and not society or nation, thus religion must end at the nose of all of us.
Religion must respect our humanness and not make a despicable animal out of everyone.
Let those who prefer to hold their illusions hold them and let those who prefer to drop their illusions and blug a living flower do so.
