  Galamsey is dead? Since when? On which planet is this stomach-writer living? By the way, how much did Ofosu Totobi Kwakye doled out to him to write this misleading story? A small education here... NDC kingpins are seriously at it. The death of Galamsey will be the death of Sammy Gyamfi's GOLDBOD. Istead of writing this falsehood for pay, why not impress John Mahama to repeal the legislative instrument that granted entry to our forests to mine? He promised to repeal it but now he is talking about modification whilst the NDC are seriously at it. Shame on you!

  It is a fact that many members of previous governments have looked the other way or even benefited from the menace of galamsey. It will take a long time for our water bodies to be made safe again for human and agricultural purposes. However, let us not be pessimistic but embrace actions of the current government while pointing out where they go wrong. Galamsey will not be defeated until policies are implemented to provide the youth with gainful employment.
  Government must set up an institution that support the youth in carrying out galamsey in an environmentally sustainable manner. This is not rocket science. These institutions must be transparent and accountable to the people. Just as Ghanaian tossed out the NPP they will kick the NDC out of power if they play politics with the galamsey problem. It is not necessary to repeal the law granting access to the national forest preserves for mining. Simply modify the laws in environmentally responsible manner for the you to engage in gainful employment.
  The days of the Wontumis must not come back.
