Well written article and comprehensive. Unfortunately , successive governments come with their own policies and relegate all governments agriculture institutions which are vital in sustaining and implementing what will make the country self sufficient. Where are the food distribution centres built years ago ? Where are the silos for grain storage ? Where are the union farmers in various regions in the country? In conclusion let us call for national forum with all the institutions, Stakeholders and the private sector. Finally a digital platform hub for information in the agriculture chain should be created.

You have hit the nail on the head. That’s the real issue. Every new government comes in and wants to start from scratch. No matter how good the last plan was. I don't also blame them. Politics is killing our national agenda. Without a united longterm agenda that both sides agree to, nothing will stick. We build the silos, then forget them. Start farmer initiatives, then starve them of support when the next party wins. That’s why this bond idea needs more than funding. It needs political discipline. Otherwise, we’ll just keep repeating the same cycle, one term at a time. Kudos Dr Maxwell Ampong on a well-written article. Easy to read, easy to understand.
