safety and health in our beloved country is below standard and one thing I have notice is that; many safety managers, superintendent, officers that are holding this positions in Ghana have little or no ideal about safety , they study business management with no safety qualification and yet being appointed in the safety department with little ideas on how to proactively do proper risk assessment. workers are being exposed to many occupational illness and diseases every day with no compensation.it about time the government do something about this issues .

-Are the current institions fit to monitor, evaluate the little we have as captured in the Labour act 651,2003.
-Is it ignorance? Or the WE DON'T CARE ATTITUDE?

This is superb! Somehow, the journey has to start somewhere and someday. Your article has provided a strong trigger. Just hope the relevant institutions and persons will give its content an honest reflection.

it will interest you to know that not much of research has been done on this topic in Ghana especially narrowing down to small scale businesses like the printing industry. Getting a documented information on health and safety is a herculean task since people who get injured in the our industries do not most of time report them. i need a list of documented case in the printing so far health and safety is concern.
