Writer of this Opinion must be told in no uncertain terms that if there is anybody to be blamed for the loss of cases by the NDC it should be their uselesssss lawyers. Look at the Presidential petition for instance, how do you go to court without any evidence by way of your own collated results to prove your case, and you expect win in court even non lawyers saw that NDC was going to loose the case and instead of the lawyers advising Mahama they urged him on for reasons best known to them.
NDC is in government now and they are afraid they would be exposed badly unless they get their favorite as Chief Justice, They have even forgotten that the Supreme Court has a panel of Judges who are independent and whoever is the Chief Justice cannot influence their opinion. They think their propaganda and press prosecution can influence the court. They should leave the CJ alone and get their evidence right before they go to court.

Don't for the 3 arms of government. The same can be said about the attitude of JDM and his appointees' towards Nana Addo. Don't we all know the bias of the NDC govt. and how they only appoint only their party members to positions? It means if you are not a party member, you would never be considered to be a CEO of any govt. agency. Should that be the case? So if you are not NPP or NDC, no matter you qualifications and ability, Ghana is not for you?

What sort of madness is this. What reform are you talking about? You are always using emotions instead of laying facts. Bring your own Chief Justice yet you will loose more cases than you ever imagined. A minister just wake up one day and make a spurious statement on thousand of containers belonging to ECG getting missing. Now the narrative is shifting everyday. If you want to win your cases get your fact right. It is not about the Chief Justice please.

Removing her will a create a precedent that will impact negatively on our democratic credentials. Outsiders look at us as one country, not NPP or NDC. If NPP comes to office in 2028 or 2032 they will also try to do the same. I know they remove the EC, Charlotte Osei but the NDC shouldn't try to remove either the CJ or the EC chair just to equalize. The NDC is above this kind of politics

Mahama should know that Ghanaians are not fools. If he has the balls, he should empanel a team to recommend for her removal. If NDC succeeds in removal the CJ, posterity won't forgive Mahama for this populist move which is not in the interest of our democracy. If Mahama is not seeking to change the constitution for another tenure after 2028, why is he bent of removing the CJ. We are watching to see what motivated the constitutional review if it was because of his avowed and insatiable craze for another term. Time will tell.

This new system where the Chief Justice is the only person to decide who sit on which cases leads to biased and one sided influences . Also, the haste in deciding political charged cases should be avoided. Time takes energy out of those political charged cases. Even see this Ekow Assafuah case challenging the President procedure in removing CJ, WHY 9Th of April, why why why, Is SC now fast track court ?

That "Unanimous FC" is a complete misnomer. Included in the Supreme Court panel that heard the case ( Mahama vrs EC et al) was Justice Yaw Appau (Rtd), who publicly informed Ghanaians that he was a cadre of the NDC during the Rawlings regime. Justice Appau was also appointed to the Supreme Court by President Mahama during his first term as President. Justice Appau did not desent in the rulings of the panel. Indeed if anybody watched the whole proceedings of the election petition, Justice Appau was the one who gave Tsatsu Tikata a tough time in one the court's sittings. Yet some Ghanaians unfortunately branded the Supreme Court the "Unanimous FC".
