  For now, may I please respectfully ask: There is a MINISTER appointed a few days ago to run a NEW Ministry that has LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND CHEIFTAINCY combined. This is the practice in NIGERIA's political Landscape.
  
  How best this will work, we are yet to see. So until we read Dr Duffuor's original article, kindly explain if this published article of yours is for the Minister in the NEW MINISTRY?

  Unfortunately , the powers of our Traditional Rulers and the powers of the Faith leaders have been reduced to the mere illusions of power. It’s rather unfortunate The only time politicians give proper credit to our Traditional Rulers is during electioneering Campaigns. Yes, we need changes to our entire governance system. Years ago some of our Traditional Rulers could barely read or write. Now the situation is completely different. So why are we not getting things done properly?

  For the record, CHIEFTAINCY has always been more IMPACTFUL than Party Politics. It has also BEEN LESS CORRUPT than Party Politics.

  The chiefs will have to fight to RECLAIM what is theirs, simple. The lands are theirs. Some fought and spilled blood to acquire the lands.
  
  I don't understand why They would DOCILELY give those lands to the politicians through a paper document written by politicians called constitution.
