I will confess that automation is often a good thing. This is especially when it comes to simplifying things related to design, processing and building of systems components.
I am afraid however, that African people are about to repeat the same cycle of mistakes they have made throughout their modern history: embracing European-made technologies. African business institutions must stop embracing European technologies without fully understanding the impact of and intents behind introducing such technologies into our economic and social sphere.
NB: Artificial Intelligence (AI) will likely be the Trojan horse used to help RE-COLONISE Africa in the 21st century. Just watch and see.
It makes more sense to pool African resources to build our own brands of technologies even if they happen to be inferior to that of other nations. We must learn to keep circulating the money among OURSELVES instead of jumping at every technological wave coming out of the tech-world of Europe and North America. Thank you.
