  Let's be honest though. She was picked so she would not outshine mahama. An academic knows nothing about the practical side of politics, moving a govenrment forward and actual change. He was not intimidated by her so like when he picked Amissah Arthur, he picked someone with no personality, no threat, no ability to overthrow him-despite the notable women within and outside NDC. She is certainly no Kamala Harris. Cannot hold her own on an international or local stage; does not inspire, and was picked so all the attention would be on Mahama. Had he gone for a younger, vibrant person that could lead after him-we understand. If he grooms her for presidency then its him in office for 8 years. Make no mistake, It is an ABSOLUTE tragedy that the first female vice president is of Ghana dead in the water before she starts-has not written or said anything of note and was picked to in essence be wall paper behind Mahama. Mark my word-his lack of confidence in picking the weakest woman in politics or the public sphere he could find, then redirecting all Presidential traffic on the official website to his personal webpage within 48 hours is a sign that STILL-the farmer is not ready! We have a disastrous 4 years ahead and not even an engaging vice president to look at and listen to. CALL FORTH THE REAL CANDIDATES FOR FEMALE VICE PRESIDENT.   Why is there a defeaning silence about Prof Naana life or the lack of mention of her marital status?. I was a former student of hers and her then affable husband, prof Opoku Agyemam, also an English prof also at UCC. It;s incredible that in all of her praises about her accomplishments no mention is made of her ( now former husabans?) who supported her throug think and kin in canada and Ghana. If that were a man, questions will be raised about whether a woman was not behind her sucess. The gentleman is quietly jettisoned in public discourses; and to the Eliman Coast as if he doesn't exist. This is the lot of men in this post modern world
