To me, the 24-hour economy as propagated by the NDC simply goes against the adage of putting the cart before the horse. A country like Ghana, where we literally import everything to fill our shopping malls, must aggressively embark on a massive industrialisation agenda to add value to our numerous agricultural products if we are to truly transform our colonial-based economy.The Komenda Sugar Processing Plant must be operational before the 24-hour economy. The Komenda Sugar Processing Plant must be operational before the 24-hour economy. Mind you, all the countries cited for a functioning 24-hour economy have demand-driven manufacturing factories to complement the need for a 24-hour economy.Furthermore, we must be mindful of the modernity of digitalisation in the global labour space and produce relevant skills, all of which must precede the 24-hour economy given the structure of our economy today.
