What the public saw was a party incapable of solving the country's economic problems while the party top grew rich at the expense of the people. The number one reason for NPP's shellacking at the polls is Akufo-Addo. The number two reason is also Akufo-Addo. Guess what the number 3 reason is...
The public saw an arrogant president determined to listen to no one except the close relatives he surrounded himself with. A more effective leader would have used his power over his subordinates to forge a better way for the country.
We need a change in our constitution that will lessen the powers of the Presidency so that an Akufo-Addo will never happen to us again.
I hope Maham will learn a lesson from Akufo-Addo's pride, hubris and pomposity. When the country was ailing, he was going around unveiling statues to himself. The people saw it and voted his party out. Simple. He should have been voted out way back in 2020!!!
