Your reform proposals are in the right direction. Still, I will beg to differ with widening the primaries process for card-bearing party members to pay dues to participate in across-the-board elections for contestants, DCEs, Party Execs, MPs, Presidential Candidates, etc. Instead, I would suggest a broader expansion for all registered party members to be allowed to participate in the primaries (Dues-paying member or not) to garner a better picture of a more electable candidate, besides curbing political entrepreneurship where MPs invest 10 million Cedis to capture power, only to re-coup their investment later and depriving their constituencies of any tangible development.
Consider this: what can ten million Cedis do or accomplish in constituency development, and multiply ten million by two hundred and seventy-six MPs? If MPs invest ten million each, how much does the Presidential candidate borrow to invest, sixty or eighty million Cedis?
Widening the primaries process will give a better view or observation and curb political entrepreneurship, where all trained professionals are heading into politics for quick and lucrative returns, damn the country. The NPP had better be quick because midterm or two years is just around the corner.
