Your review is excellent, detailed and on point. Sadly, folks do not understand how serious the situation has become. Even if all galamsey activity were stopped tomorrow, it will still take many years and $$$ to restore envrmnt. One wonders why the FDA, EPA and CSIR cannot perform regular market surveys to check heavy metals in food crops/fish/rivers and publish data weekly for Ghanaians to be aware of dangers?. The gold for oil policy of NPP means galamsey is here to stay. Meanwhile, the so called fearsome river gods are either poisoned or asleep..
