Precedence may be on the side of the NDC, but timing in this case is of more importance. NPP's former Speaker Oquaye may have taken a similar action, but why act similarly with merely weeks to go in the elections? Now, the focus is all on this Supreme Court decision instead of NDC Members of Parliament focusing their energies on the campaigns. There's no doubt that this Supreme Court has become a highly partisan court, and it doesn't do much to hide that fact. No use fighting an unnecessary battle when one could have waited till after the elections in just a matter of weeks to determine what needs to be done in Parliament, depending on the outcome of the parliamentary elections.
