As you rightfully noted in your article, there's the right to peaceful protest. But there's NO RIGHT to non-peaceful protest where posters and signboards were pulled down and burned and access to the 37 Hospital was blocked denying patients who were dying their right to life-saving care. The protesters who did so peacefully were left free, hence the small number who were arrested out of the lot.
Even in the United States, some thousands of January 6 2021 protesters whose actions resulted in violence and destruction have been sentenced to months and years in prison. But in Ghana, I believe they will soon be left off the hook and hopefully learn to engage in peaceful protests next time, like what the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra did on October 11. You could have balanced your article by admonishing the protesters for the destruction and requesting the justice system to accord them mercy.
