THE GALAMSEY MENANCE ---obviously it is a CRISIS---and from a far I can judge from the political point of view --the two major parties --NPP & NDC are behaving irresponsibly considering that the Answer to STOP the GALAMSAY MENANCE is in their hands but naively because of politic the Hung Parliament continue to show how clueless and irresponsible they are.
Don't let us believe these so call honorable members of Parliament are blind to the devastated Agricultural Lands and the polluted muddy Water BODIES on display---The sights of all our major Rivers are no longer the clear waters of old ----if all these big Rivers have been made [turned] muddy colored then what about the streams and rivulets.
We drive over these Water Bodies --Arieal view of both the agricultural
Land and Rivers are all over on social media ---it has not been a recent feature--in fact it has there since 2014 and worsening to date.
Now there is an awakening--Outcry, -Protest marches, Media Commentaries
--and in fact, a serious public concern --But I ask WHY NOW -? But all the same I say -BINGO !--Better late than ever --at least We the Citizens aren't behaving like ostriches any More --KUDOS !--The Organized Labor call -[THREAT]- recently for a Nation-wide Strike Action might have helped in a way --hence the President's move to engage them --Well the STRIKE IS ON HOLD NOW--and the President has directed for ACTIONS TO BE ENFORCED THAT AIMS AT TACKLING THE GALAMSAY MENANCE----Well, for me I see it as an ad-hoc enforced measure that will not completely HALT the GALAMSEY MENANCE .Reason for my doubt, will be elucidated in due course however at this point too my advice to ORGANIZED LABOR to exclude ESSENTIAL SERVICES any time a NATIONWIDE STRIKE ACTION is on the BOARD.
For me I am sure that the GALAMSAY MENANCE to be effectively taken care of must follow the logical proposals I am going to advance. It is absurd for some members of the Ruling Party to be more concerned about VOTES it may lose hence instead of grabbing the bull by its HORNS and completely STOP the GALAMSEY MENANCE they prefer the massaging therapy the President has taken --that ACTION he is proposing.
WELL, for me I say if the President can and must request Parliament to Pass a LAW---then whilst these interim actions the President is taking to meet the demands by ORGANZED LABOR ----Let the President be bold and go further to request that SPEAKER BAGBIN and his HUNG PARLIAMENT enact a LAW to BAN any form of SMALL SCALE MINING [legal or illegal] in GHANA for a foreseeable period to allow the Agricultural Land and Water Bodies regain an unpolluted state ---meanwhile a serious afforestation program must take place to get the vegetation back. Let the gold remain in the ground undisturbed until a better healthy extraction method is found. To those young ignorant so call YOUTH who claim GALAMSEY is a JOB --let them know that any EMPLOYMENT that has negative effect on society at large is NOT a JOB ---[MECHANICAL DISADVANTAGE] --WATER IS PRICELESS not gold--don't let greed destroy the life of citizens. Even if the President is not in the position to request Parliament to pass a BILL to BAN SMALL SCALE MINING---any citizen can go ahead to submit a private member's BILL. Note that Bagbin's and his hung Parliament spent precious time on ANTIGAY-ISM BILL ----a ridiculous /absurd 'PROPER HUMAN ADULT SEXUAL BEHAVIOR' tabled by Sam George and Co.----CULTURAL RIGHT & HUMAN RIGHT----this even sanctimonious Sam George & Co cannot discern.--What is criminal about a person with deviant sexual orientation ?--PASS a LAW to BAN GALAMSAY ---VIOLATION must attract a very severe punishment even Death by Firing Squad period.
Did the President not say that never under his watch was he going to endorse SAME GENDER UNION --EVEN with that statement see how misinformed and disinformed --the HOMOSEXUAL ISSUE went on and on. ---to the extent that-- the FACT that the essence of MARRIAGE is for COMPANIONSHIP
and that the sexual intimacy part of marriage is small if not negligible. HOMOSEXUALS are not devastating out land or polluting our Water sources---GAYS are not KILLING fellow citizens--But GALAMSAYERS are killing us --LET all GALAMSEYERS --[both foreigners and citizen]
be severely dealt with.
