Seriously Isaac, this is a failure of the government or any other government that would be in power. This is an illegal practice and the only authority that can stop it through enforcement is the government. Sad that elements in the government rather the ones involved in the act. The buck is at the feet of the President.

Nonsense. Galamsey is a crime that takes place in the open, right before the very eyes of the government that has the tools to keep these galamsey criminals from operating. The Akufo-Addo NPP government promised Ghanaians that it would right what the NDC government had not succeeded in doing, including the economy and galamsey. Yet, in eight years at Julor House, this NPP government has turned a blind eye on galamsey. The government dismissed galamsey charges against galamsey queenpin Aisha Huang, giving Ghanaians a silly excuse and claiming to have feportesd her. It did not take long before Aisha re-entered Ghana, illegally, and proceeded to engage in galamsey until she was arrested again. This time, the NPP government, with mud on its face, chose to charge Aisha with illegal re-entry but not galamsey. Even Prsident Akufo-Addo made a public statement claiming Aisha was not engaged in galamsey, though Ghanaians know better. Then too is the case of NPP's Wontumi and his galamsey activities in a forest preserve. The authorities finally confiscated Wontumi's equipment, but chose not charge him with mining illegally in a forest preserve. Once again, it was President Akufo-Addo who made a public statement declaring that Wontumi was not engaged in galamsey in that forest preserve. So much for an NPP government that has lied to Ghanaians for eight years now that it's fighting galamsey when Ghanaians can clearly see the NPP government in a king size bed with galamsey criminals. How does a government send a ten Police officers to a galamsey site, only to have them beaten up by galamsey criminals, and the government doesn't respond with a show of force against these galamsey bastards?
