Drought is a natural occrrence even from the Biblical times. It is not new to humanity since nature has a way of resetting itself. Even in the Amazon basin, there occurs drought. That is just the laws of nature.
The quality of humanity is to put in place mitigations to handle these occrrence through food preservation. That is why certain societies have learnt to make Kokonte, have dried okra powder , dried pepper and so on.
Now we have money to buy excavators to be destroying our rivers with the inetent of mining for Gold.
During the Gold rush in California, the winners were the merchants who sold mining tools, clothes and other supplies to the miners. The miners did not benefit in any way.
Look here, the money one makes in mining destroying lands and rivers will be used to buy food which is going to be imported.
Do you see Glamsey in Ukraine? No their land is very precious to them.
Now use these excavators to create ponds that are deep enough to withstand the drought. Use the excavators to creat water chennels to farm land.
We need food and not Gold.
This is our problem.
