  Ghana's chiefs are stomach chiefs and canary birds-for-rent to visiting thieving politicians. These chiefs sit sit watch galamsey unfold, but are quick to sing false praises of of thieving politicians who make stops at their palaces. The chiefs also know how milk the system, for a careful look at majority of governments under the NPP and NDC will reveal that the sons of chiefs across Ghana are often the holding key Ministerial appointments. A few well-connected chiefs also act as the gateway to governmental appointments, and persons seeking to be Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Ambassadors, head of government agencies, and other plum government positions only need to go through these chiefs and their appointments are assured. All that does nothing but contribute to incompetence within government while causing Presidential candidates to have to visit chiefs across the country in search of support since these chiefs wield enormous influence over their subjects. Chiefs are good at singing praises of thieving politicians, but seldom caring to criticize these same thieving politicians when then their thievery and incompetence have been laid bare for all to see.
