Prices of goods and services did not increased more than 54% in 2016. On account of tribalism and nepotism Ghana is where it is now. In any civilised country , NPP will not have the nerve to be demanding Ghanaians mandete in 2024. Vote out NPP to let them learn. 2024 election is the next fight for Ghana's independence.

NPP has expanded the economy and wages are now moving up and so must the relative costs and prices. Dont just throw out numbers of on side of the equation out while being bling to the other. Did you expect the mason now charging 150ghc daily to pocket the huge difference he makes now to go and buy kenkey at 50p?
Answer this other question. If importers stopped to buy dollars today, would the dollar exchange rate not drop instantly? The dollar demand by traders is the what reflects on the rate. Apparently, there is a huge demand for dollars by traders and this can only be attributed to demands backed by expanded incomes in the system. Poor economy cant afford huge imports. Ghana is moving forward; you can see huge mansions springing here and there. In villages to big cities. No one is building "atakpame' mud homes anymore and we import most of the materials. Ghana's problem is simple. We don't have a work force that meets the global standards. Unlike China, that had a skilled and well educated middle level work force that served as an attractive incentive to foreign investors to relocate their manufacturing to China, which led to their economic miracle, ours is a case of foreign companies using our resources and cheap business environment to make money and repatriate same out of the country.
In China, most of the profits stayed in China.
