In 1972 Colonel Ignatius Acheampong overthrew a government that claim that the Negro is less an animal than the white man's dog.
Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia was a supporter of white and Anglo Saxon supremacy. He supported both apartheid in South Africa and racial segregation policies in Britain and the U.S. that declared that the Negro is an animal less than the white man's dog.
General Ignatius Acheampong came and continued with the general policies of Kwame Nkrumah, the African armed liberation struggle, industry and agriculture.
John Rawlings policies were no different from that of Busia and his Progress Party.
One would say that Rawlings raised the barrier of economic enslavement, thus deprived Ghanaians of free tap water, education, health and employment.

Ghana was declared a HIPC country because Kufuor diverted the nation's funds to his political party business cronies, and these cronies then used those funds and lucrative government contracts to set up the huge businesses that they operate today. Busia proved to be what many had long known, a highly mis-educated selfish and vision-less self-entitled academic with no clue about how to run a country. Busia would never have made it as Head of State had Afrifa not used his power as a military dictator to undermine the electoral process by silencing opposition political parties so that Busia would have an easy time getting elected into office. And once Busia came into office, it did not take long before his policies began to cause sufferings among the people of Ghana. Busia demonstrated his lack of vision when he falsely believed that by driving out long-time foreign residents in Ghana whose businesses were the engine of Ghana's economy, he could have hi political party sycophants step in and swallow these businesses and thus have the financial wherewithal to to finance his party in future election campaigns. These sycophants did swallow the businesses once owned by the departing foreigners, but they barely knew how to successfully manage them, and this started the economic headaches that were to plague Busia's short stint as Head of State. Badu is an ignorant serial liar.
