If I copied western culture, then the conclusion of this article would have been that every couple in Ghana must sign a pre-nuptial agreement, but that is not the case. If you had at least read the conclusion of the article you would not have written such a misplaced comment. Thank you for the comment anyway, however malicious it may have been

  It is succinctly stated in this article that properties acquired by a man or a woman before marriage is not spousal property and therefore cannot be shared.

  It looks like the law on spousal property distribution around the world is old and akace.
  One cannot gain a property without working or investing in a venture.
  So how come that a wife who did not make any contribution to the generating of the wealth want to take part of it.
  The wife will say that she sleeps with the man.
  But just like other animals male and female are supposed to sleep with each other and that does not mean that one of the parties should pay the other.
  It seems that the courts are saying that all women are prostitutes.
  The woman will say that she washes and prepare bed for the man.
  In some instances it's the man who washes his own clothing or employ a househelp to wash, clean, prepare food, dress the bed, among other things.
  The world must take another look at marriage relations and make it more humane.

  Properties acquired during marriage are presumed to be the joint properties of both spouses according to the law. However, if as a man, you think that your wife made no contribution at all to the acquisition of the property, it is in your right to prove that.
  
  When it comes to contribution by women in the acquisition of property, having sex with the man is never deemed as a contribution per se. Also, any other contribution the woman will deem as earning her a right to the property acquired must be in direct correspondence with the acquisition.
  This means that just stating that as a wife, you cooked, cleaned and slept with your husband is not enough in itself.
