WATER IS LIFE. Why our leaders can't stop galamsey in Ghana? We don't have capable leaders in Ghana. Where to find thinkers and capable leaders to rule Ghana? A leader who can force citizens to do what is right. Do we have one? The country has become like animal farm. Galamsey, corruption, mismanagements everywhere in Ghana. 99% of Ghanaians are corrupted. All the institutions are corrupted. Tell me only one institution working properly in Ghana. None

Whereas I agree with much of what the writer said, I think it will take more than those points that was mentioned. Here is my take:
1. We need to reform our education system to reflect our hopes, aspirations and values. The current system is the colonial imprint which is not serving us well. A civic education geared towards national development included in our education system will do us a lot of good.
2. Law and Order need to be reviewed and revamped to counter the corruption and lawlessness that is currently destroying all sectors of the country. Almost every Ghanaian expects to pay some kind of bribe in order to get government services. The only Ghanaians excluded from paying bribes are those who are well-connected to the political system. How can we develop with that kind of reality?
3. Let's face it, ethnicity, tribalism and religiosity still plays a major part in our decision making. How do we get pass that when some of us still think they are higher because of their tribe or religion?

The laws are there! The interpreters and enforcers of the laws are mostly dumb, stupid, unintelligent, unpatriotic, eerily narcissistic, unobjective, tribalistic, ineffective and inefficient. Remove the fools and carefully replace them with different people with foresight and love for Ghana, and we don't need to go to the IMF to manage the economy anymore.
Our problems are about the silly black human being! Bring white people from the West to manage the institutions and count how many days it would take to turn things over.

I keep telling all of you, UNTIL there's complete, total and absolute overhaul of the intentionally corrupt, dysfunctional and stupid JUDICIARY and the equally corrupt Law Enforcement, we're about stuck in the mud for life! Things will only get worse.
I will challenge anybody on this and give bet my head off on this! If we think it is a joke, and we mulishly refuse to find a way around the judiciary and law enforcement, we're going nowhere.
