This a stupid article by someone who doesn't even realise the core wrong. It is not about allocation of resources; it is about deceit, and 'misappropriation/diversion of funds', to use more polite words.

This a classic example of how any discerning Ghanaian can easily distinguish the grain from the chaff. And, that sums up what the irreplaceable Kwame Nkrumah stood for and what the venal Danquah Busia Detritus stands for. Whereas Nkrumah., went to America and saw how the Hoover Dam transformed the lives of ordinary Americans, he made sure we got one.Compare that with worse than useless Akufo Addo, who saw their so-called National Cathedral.... which was actually built by the Episcopal Church and not the govt, the good-for-nothing bogus democrat decided to use our meagre resources to build a Cathedral of vanity at our expense just to massage his ego. And, his hopeless ancestors had the chutzpah to term Akosombo Dam a "Prestige Project". I would urge the writer to update himself of the same vanity Cathedral built by an equally daft Western Poodle in the Ivory Coast and see the hopelessness of it all.

Most countries that can be correctly described as "unified" or that have cohesive societies DO NOT HAVE A NATIONAL CATHEDRAL. Instead factors such as a unity of purpose, respect for honest hard-work, creativity, innovation,,discipline, respect for education, responsible and accountable leadership are the most important factors at play. So give up this stuff about the need to unify the nation with some building in Accra.
If you really want to unify the nation go back and study the history of the Romans from 3000 years ago. They built roads, instilled in their citizens respect for the rule of law and meritocracy (albeit imperfect) and that way they were able to hold together vast territories. So please let's stop insulting the intelligence of Ghanaians. JUST STOP THIS WASTEFUL AND FOOLISH PROJECT CALLED THE "NATIONAL CATHEDRAL". It has no aim or purpose that pre-existing buildings cannot fulfill unless of course someone has a hidden or secret agenda they don't want to reveal to us "lesser mortals".

That sham national cathedral is just another of ananse Akufo-Addo's devious plans to ensure that his NPP corners Christian votes to ensure NPP continuation in power after he leaves office. That is the very reason why these NPP thieving liars are doing all they can to complete that worthless project before the elections come up at year's end. Only a vision-less and incompetent leader will waste tax payers' money to erect a cathedral that he falsely claims to have made a pact with God to build. God will never enter into a pact with any thieving liar to build God a cathedral while God's little children in elementary schools across Ghana are still schooling under trees or in unsafe classrooms. Akufo-Addo is a damn liar, and he knows it.
