Do we need small scale mining? No other countries do this, and the reason is simple, it will end up with everyone digging everywhere around the country, and this is what is happening.

In parts of the Western Region, people are digging under their own houses and encroaching on public spaces. This is what happens when there's no control and individual lawlessness and indiscipline preponderate over reason, security and patriotism.

Apart from polluting the environment and destroying river bodies, it builds individuals like Wontumi into untouchables who use their money to buy party members and irresponsible leaders in the society.

In my humble opinion, there shouldn't be galamsey anywhere. It's undermining our intelligence as a country.
