Re: It’s the turn of the Ashantis

– Kufuor faction declares

Reference is to the general news of Friday October 18, 2013 carried in The Informer newspaper. I have strained every sinew to resist the urge to respond to the amateurish crafted and pitiful pieces of garbled prose produced in the reputed guttersnipe ragtag called The Informer. That the likes of Koku Anyidoho and other psychologically challenged emotionally retarded calabash pushers are behind the tabloid is no news to the avid reader of the Ghanaian media landscape. What one was hoping was that the unfortunate passing of Professor Kofi Nyidevu Awoonor would induce proper sober reflection about the frailty of man and the futility of praise-singing or unwarranted personal attacks at fellow Ghanaians. Not so for the young wannabes at The Informer.

Readers would have noticed that in their recent past editions, these desperados running The Informer newspaper have resorted to amplifying the pathetic figments of possibly demented imaginations as to the existence of a so-called Ashanti and Akyem rivalry. How and when they conjured this still-born idea to sow seeds of discord and disunity within the New Patriotic Party as it embarks on reorganization in order to ready itself to kick out the visionless, clueless and incompetent Mahama administration is not hard to find: it is a clear reflection of their plan to re-present their expired selves as credible enough to earn a calling from John Mahama who simply cast them into the political abyss upon the realization that they are indeed too much of a liability. In anycase, who told Koku Anyidoho and his ilk that Stan Dogbe and Baba Camara would have them back in charge of government communications again after disrespecting, degrading and humiliating the then pliant and time-biding Vice President as he then was? Heads are indeed rolling faster than Karma unleashed its power and like Oko Nikoi Djanie exemplifies, no recycling of arrogant wolves would be given a reprieve even by the standards of the inept and corrupt band of national coffer looters masquerading as a government.

Let it be told here and rightly so, that there is no Akufo-Addo led Akyem faction or an Akyem mafia anywhere to even start a rivalry. This plan by The Informer to create a non-existent rivalry by banging the heads of people from the two strongholds of the NPP will fall flat and blow up in their faces. The membership of the NPP including Akyems and Ashantis for that matter are too enlightened and smart as not to see the mischief and pathetic attempt to induce emotional agitations against them. It is as clear as the reality of daylight that this recent serialization of stories regarding a so-called Ashanti and Akyem rivalry is nothing but a desperate effort to divert attention of the good people of Ghana from the abysmal failure of the Mahama-led NDC to address the real challenges confronting Ghanaians. If The Informer thinks these figments of their warped thinking would make Ghanaians forget the cluelessness of the ruling administration, they definitely have been eating too much stale food; if The Informer thinks that these stories would compel the NPP to lose focus of the shameless pilfering of the national kitty by members of the ruling administration using amateur bootlickers and mushroom institutions like GYEEDA, they probably spent too much time deluding their pathetic torsos with old widow’s tales of nostalgic gyrations; if The Informer thinks such stories would make Ghanaians stop talking about the now open secret as to who did what on August 29th 2013 from the Presidency, they better sit well – just as the good book assures all of us, nothing hidden shall remain hidden. Perhaps it is about time to serve them a little taste of their own deeds for after all, the good people of Ghana deserve to know which brother brought down his half brother from Pennsylvania to prevail upon which judge to rule in a particular matter for a few dollars more. The people of Ghana would soon be told the truth about what really pertains at the desecrated entity called the presidency and while at it, some insights into what and who really triggered the death of the late President Mills. It can only be fair that some painful truths are finally revealed. In any case, from where did The Informer acquire the misplaced idea that any right thinking member of the NPP would stoop so low as to inform that fringe tabloid of any such non-existent rivalry especially when our party, built over the years on the principle of competition, has demonstrated time again at each and every conference how solidly this enviable trait remains the cornerstone of our organization. We are not about to compromise that because a certain tabloid, run by discarded and disregarded rented gutter journalists says so.

At the very least, we shall offer free advice to the producers of such gutter thoughts: they are better off finding ways of shoring up the sinking image of the Mahama administration. They can do so by finding money for the NDPC so that Dr. Agyeman Badu Akosah can do his work for which he was roped in; The Informer may also want to help the Mahama administration find ways of making Fitch upgrade their decimated credit rating to enable the few remaining skeptics bring some of their hard earned money to invest in the administration’s guaranteed thievery regime; they can even find ways of cleaning up the judiciary as Dr. Kwabena Adjei once promised, now that it is common knowledge what really happened on the 29th of August, 2013. I am fully aware that these stories are steamed, garnished and served from the direct supervision of persons who have sworn to uphold the very constitution whose violations are being promoted on a daily basis of excellence in thievery bravado. GYEEDA is too close to ignore, our national deficit is too staggering to peep at, the cedi has donned the mass production garb of imitation Chinese-made cell phones and all The Informer can spurt out is an imaginary Akyem Mafia and Ashanti cabal? Does it not enter their epileptic and convulsive dehydrated torsos in their editorial reviews that the closeness of the Akyems and the Ashantis was cemented years ago when his Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu took for his bride, the beautiful Lady Julia from the cultured and refined people of Akyem Abuakwa? So why would there be a rivalry between Akyems and Ashantis who have tied their bonds with a marital seal? Perhaps, when the migratory guinea fowls currently sojourning in Ouagadougou and Bamako return, The Informer will find some much needed wisdom to stop pissing inside the already stinking and moribund corners of the shack they call an office and find ways of assisting Nunoo-Mensah actualize his dream of having a pliant workforce in a country where institutionalized thievery is fast becoming the favourite past time of the Mahama led NDC and its appointed officials.

Let me reiterate that we who believe in the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition are not in the least shaken by these unwarranted crumb-seeker’s schemes. I am absolutely sure that nobody in the NPP takes anything from the pages of The Informer seriously, precisely because we know they are desperate government-backed attempts aimed at casting doubts about our great party, its potential leaders and teeming supporters. Indeed I am aware that this project to create suspicion about potential candidates of our party at all levels is to pitch the possible and likely contestants against each other by using innuendo and inference in order to rule out possibility of reconciliation after the contests are over; we shall not fall for it. As a matter of factual challenge, I dare The Informer if it is a paper worth used for wrapping decaying mudfish to name and shame those who comprise the so-called mafia. If The Informer and its team of disgruntled and forsaken crumb scavengers think for a second that it is going to be business as usual at the expense of the NPP, they better think really hard and do so again. Now that they have forced our gloves on, the battle is joined. Let’s see what the staying power of their paymasters and their confused degenerate hangers on and disgruntled disregarded ex-Mills loyalists is.
