We deserve accolades - King Promise's manager

King Promise King Promise

A member of King Promise’s management team, Kwame Obeng Kwapong has applauded colleagues for their immense support which has helped the artiste chalk successes.

According to him, there can be a very hardworking and talented artiste but if he/she does not have good people or visionary people around him, his talent might not be able to have an impact even on people in his locality.

In a phone interview with the manager, he commented that King Promise is working with the best and the most amazing team members who always prioritize the success of the artiste and also contribute great concepts to push the King Promise brand to cross borders.

He said, “We are delighted to work with a hardworking artist who cherishes teamwork and also choose concepts favorable for everyone on his team. Which makes working with him superbly. Our recent show at Scala Live Event Center in London became a success due to teamwork and I guess congratulating ourselves is the best way because everybody put in their 100% and even more to make the show a success.”

Reminiscing the success of King Promise’s last mega show held in London, at the Scala Live Event Center before the Coronavirus lockdown, he said, “I absolutely did enjoy myself. There’s nothing we would change about the day. From the fans' interaction, the band, and the DJ killing it, and the vibes were all just perfect. We had an epic show and it was achievable due to teamwork. Everyone on our team had a role to play and each of us played it perfectly which landed us at success.”

The team which is spearheaded by renowned Ghanaian music producer and CEO of the label, Kill Beatz also had Ohene as the record Manager with the artist had successfully stormed 2 Venues in Berlin and Hamburg respectively which made London their third show in Europe for 2020 until the Corona crisis had to put them halting on other King Promise’s headline show in Europe.

“We had received a lot of love from the UK and we thought 2020 is the best time to do a King Promise Headline show after he dropped his album in 2019. We choose Scala because it matched what we were looking for in terms of venue” said Kwapong.

He detailed that, before the show in London “It was a mixed feeling of excitement and anxiety because it’s King Promise’s first headline show in The UK. We wanted to make history for him and Ghana! We achieved that. The number of the crowd was ‘crazy’. We knew it was going to be successful when people started queuing at 5:30 pm. You know the numbers are very important to us as a brand but the performance also plays a vital role in the show being a success. I did not get the opportunity to enjoy the show but all the times I saw the performances they were electrifying. I don’t think I can ever forget King Promise’s entrance.”

He further revealed that, if “we are ever going to do a show in the UK, we will still use the same strategy and team, but modified. We will go hard on promotions, prepare very well and the only change will be a bigger capacity.”
