Africa’s leading pay TV service provider, StarTimes has uplinked the all new Ghana Learning TV on its DTH platform to encourage students learn from home.

The new 24-hour channel rolled out by the Ghana Education Service (GES), is geared towards distance learning for SHS and JHS students and can be accessed for free on the StarTimes decoder (channel #312).

Ghana Learning TV channel 312 will be available to all subscribers including the over 6000 families who benefited from the StarTimes 300 villages’ program at no cost.

Following a directive by President Akufo-Addo for the closure of all schools, as part of measures by the government to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, StarTimes has put in place measures to cater for the educational needs of all students.

The Pay TV operator also introduced a new educational program called Home Schooling on the ST KIDS channel #300.

“As the leading digital TV operator in Africa, StarTimes aims to contribute to the safety of the public during these special times. Our country is under a 2 week lockdown, schools have been closed but our kids need to be educated. It’s our priority to ensure they don’t lack that. We will keep upgrading our content to ensure that Ghanaians stay safe at home while they enjoy quality entertainment, news and educational programs on the most affordable Pay TV operator, StarTimes.” says Mrs Akofa Banson, StarTimes Head of Marketing.
