Several deserving participators in Ghana’s Nightlife industry are set to receive various categories of prestigious awards with the official launch of the 3rd edition of ‘Nightlife Awards’ Wednesday May 22, at the plush Carbon Nightclub in Accra.

The official awards scheme that rewards excellence in the growing nightlife industry will this year introduce many exciting additions, building on the success of last year’s event.

It is also expected to attract a large number of the industry players, including musicians, night club operators, media and a host of others.

Managing Partner at BlackTrace Company Limited, Derick Addai-Darko said the weightiness of this year’s nominee selection process goes a long way to prove, only worthy industry players would be awarded.

Celebrated Radio and TV personality, Abeiku Santana who was also present at the launch was grateful to the organizers for birthing such an initiative which seeks to boost the Tourism sector.

He further highlighted Nightlife as an industry which is capable of generating billions for government through local authorities, businessmen and entrepreneurs who venture into it.

Praying the organizers to present Nightlife as a viable option for business investment, he said, it is as much a part of contemporary culture where businessmen can confidently invest in businesses, events and programs that are involved with it without fear of failure.

He further called on government to pay attention to the growing popularity of nightlife in the country and as well have a second look at nightlife activities in our cities, if indeed Ghana wants to promote tourism on our side of the globe.

“It’s time Ghana looked at Nightlife activities as one of Ghana’s tourism product because we’re selling the Kakum, Boti falls, Castles and it doesn’t bring much excitement and dynamism so it becomes boring. But when we appreciate that nightlife is a tourism product, there we begin to market and advertise it internationally. It is becoming a vibrant economic activity that we need to pay critical attention to”. He stated
