2018 Nugoryiza Festival ends with a beauty pageant

As part of the programs for 2018 Nugoryiza Festival of the people of Penyi, a beauty pageant was organized to grease the week long festival at Infinity Stars Hotel Penyi.

At the end of the pageant that ended at the dawn of Saturday 20th of October 2018 ,18 year old Miss Forgive Alagah Edinam of Anlo Senior High School emerged the winner.

The first runner up went to Miss Adetor Joyce Of Dzodze -Penyi Senior High School whilst Miss Agblekey Bless an old student of St Catherine Senior High School took the second runner up position.

They took home Deep Freezer, LED TV, Cylinder and Burner Respectively.

Mama Nugoryiza 2018 has the vision to form A Cultural Drama Troupe in Penyi Tradional Area to unearth talents in the youth. She also believes the project will unite the youth through Edutainment.

Greasing the night were the following personalities; Dr EK Sropenyo Chairman of the Central Planning Committee of the festival as well as Director of Greater Accra Regional Hospital , MacThompson Gbeti,Director of Ghana Mission Clinic Dzodze as well as Mama Nugoryiza Project Coordinator , JKT CEO of Infinity Stars Hotel Penyi,Mr Chalse Nornoo of Ghana Cocoa Board,MCE of Ketu Hon Anthony Avorgbedor, MP of Ketu North Hon James Klutse Avedzi ,Hon Members of Penyi Zonal Council ,Penyi Concern Youth Executives, The MCE Hon Anthony Avorgbedor,AP Oil Penyi ,Wilkado Royal Resort and Spa,Meros Drinking Water, Media Partners Agbo 92.9 FM and Dzigbordzi 87.7 FM and Mike Multimedia.

Dr EK Sropenyo ceased the night to touch briefly on the theme of the 2018 festival that is "Positioning the youth to overcome the drug menace"

He advised the youth to desist from self medication and taking drugs such as tramadol without medical advice, marijuana, excessive alcohol, local bitters etc since it has the tendency to make them addictive and develop overdependency to the drugs and destroy their future .
