2018 EMY Awards: Daddy Lumba adjudged Icon/Legend of Entertainment

The 2018 edition of Exclusive Men of the Year Africa Awards (EMY Award) took place on Saturday the 18th August, at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel.

Carbon Av and Exclusive Men’s Magazine, organisers of EMY Africa Awards honoured the achievements of Daddy Lumba with an “Icon/Legend of Entertainment” title in a career that has spanned over two decades and seen over 27 albums.

The show saw performances of various hits songs from Daddy Lumba who obviously enjoyed himself and excited the crowd before finally receiving his award.

Charles Kwadwo Fosu (Daddy Lumba), speaking at the event said “I am grateful to the organizers for being part of this great show, thank you but above all I thank the people of Ghana for your support, I promise to always give you good music as long as I’m alive.”

Nigerian songstress, Simi, Trigmatic of YFM also electrified patrons with some good tunes.
In attendance were former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, MUSIGA president Obour, Prof Azumah Nelson, Abeiku Santana, Salma Mumin, Roseline Ngissah, and many others.

EMY Africa Awards is aimed at celebrating exceptional and distinguished men in Africa who have excelled in their fields of endeavour.

Some winners of the previous editions of the awards include Ex-President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kuffuor, International Business Mogul – Sir Sam Jonah and Business Consultant and Politician – Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom.



Others are Business Magnate – Dr Kwabena Duffour, Young Nigerian Entrepreneur – Adebola Williams, International Football Legend- Abedi Pele, Chairman of United Bank of Africa and Celebrated Philanthropist – Mr Tony Elumelu, among others.

The last two editions have been very successful bringing together some of the great and distinguished men and women in Ghana and beyond.
