You should not expect Ghanaians to be thronging to your father's home to visit him. If he was lonely in his last days, you the kids must take the blame: one of you could have allowed him to stay with you, instaed of living alone.

Yes I agree. Who abandoned him? Please let us bury him in peace. Every supposed ill or dead celebrity is abandoned. Why? What about their families especially children?

What was he expecting from Ghanaians?
When your father is sick whom do you expect to take care of him for you

This is what Shatta Wale always talks about and yet his fellow musicians badmouth him. If structures are in place, personal visits won't matter.

Simply put: once living make investments if possible. You can also make as many children as you can. One day, one day, ONE of them will become your care taker (does not hold for Europeans though).

Thats why he has always said that artistes should be paid well, and that has been at the core of his fight against the industry players. Ghamro should ensure that royalties are collected and paid. How do you call something an industry when there are no structures? There is musiga and there is ghamro. These institutions are recognised and supported by the state. What has been their contribution to making sure that things like this don't happen? You are right when you say we must all save for a rainy day but the structures must work. Why do you think it's compulsory to pay workers contribution to SSNIT pension scheme? By your argument it shouldn't be compulsory then.

It's sad to hear yet another person blame the Ghanaian society or government for supposedly abandoning his father, a musician loved by almost everyone who knows him. Musicians, athletes, footballers, actors and everyone whose work is related to the public should not expect the nation to throw money their way when in dire situation. I will simply say they should plan for their retirements.
