There is a place for the "rod of correction" as the scriptures teach.

Correction takes different forms; the cane is just one of them. A wise counsellor and person who knows about children understands the place of correction using force in a child's life. There is a place for counselling, as well as a place for the use of the physical rod.

Afia, your counsel is not kosher and does not necessarily resonate with truth. You should be advising the balance of the physical rod with verbal counselling. However, do not tell Ghanaians to throw out the sound wisdom of corporal punishment in their homes! Thank you and God bless you.
