How much can a person take without being broken. I have a lot of respect for Mzbel watching her story on Restoration with Stacey in Dec 2016. I am not a fan but knew her hit album 16 in 2005 but never saw the face behind the music until December 2016. I broke down in tears realising she has been through a lot. I wanted justice so bad and all the rapist locked up in jail and keys thrown in the kole Lagoon. Mzbel has been beaten down so many times but she is a strong woman. Also i believe Mzbel is misunderstood as a controversial and difficult person but actually she is an intelligent, creative and an independent woman. unfortunately in Ghana for that matter Africa, where men are dominant and strong women independent are perceived as arrogant, bitches, prostitute. I guess the same will not be said if the tables were turned and Mzbel was a man-
she will be respected as sensational . Mzbel is a victim of our savage Ghanaian society where victims of crime such as rape etc are victimised and the perpetrators of rape (men) are elevated. How is she a prostitute when it is clear she is the victim of rape?. Most people will not have survived the ordeal but she has turned a life tragedy into positive and has influenced Ghanaian music in a different way. Its sad, the rapists got away with the crime. Our justice system is a failure, dominated by men whose brains are as small as their butt holes-dickheads. How our society favours the criminals is a disgrace to Ghanaians. If the victim of crime is a woman, Some Ghanaians refer to them in nagative terms as alele, ashawo, whore , prostitute etc . However Mzbel has risen up above these challenges and turned her life around. Shallow minded people do not know her, yet hate her. Message to the haters- have a long hard look at yourselves in the mirror and see how dark your heart is. Mzbel is still making music and smiling all the way to the bank whilst haters hunger, scotch and crash. There is something disturbing in Ghanaian society. Women and children are so vulnerable and yet women here we are- women are their worse enemies. Rather than campaigning to bring rapist to justice, we are consumed with jealousy, hatred, fat asses and sink into imbeciles. It shows how backward and uneducated our society is. These men are weak, cowards, psychopaths and they need help. However Mzbel has been able to turn life adversities around to her advantage and has shown she is strong, i respect Mzbel as these adversity would have broken somebody. The woman is strong. Also I believe people should keep their religion to themselves as this can cause conflicts, division and alienation in a society. We must respect the different religion and Mzbel beliefs. Mzbel is from a Muslim background and if she does not belive in Jesus Christ, you are not better than her. Even though you might not believe in a religion, be diplomatic about it and keep your belifes to yourselves. Ghanaians and the general society are judgemental if you dont believe in Christianity or Jesus Christ, but being judgmental in itself is morally wrong. We fail to be tolerant and open to other faiths- and other faiths exist. How about the Muslims, Buddhist, Sikh , Buddhist etc? why do we want to alienate these people and think we are better than them. Mzbel has a right to her believes and in the same way I have a right to my believe in Jesus, which does not make me better than Mzbel or anyone who practiced other religion. I respect her believes and respect her as an intelligent and strong woman. Now we might give these terrorist and extremist a chance to propagate their hate messages due to lack of tolerance and respect for individuals and different religions in Ghana. Shame on us.
