WE ARE NOW HEARING ABOUT AWARDS, AWARDS AND AWARDS ESPECIALLY IN THE ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY. BUT HOW CREDIBLE ARE THESE WAWARDS AS ARTISTES CONTINUE TO ENGAGE IN BRIBERY, BLACKMAIL AND FAVORITISM IN THE PROCESS. ARTISTES ARE NOW EAGER TO ARGUE AND CHALLENGE WINNERS OF SPECIFIC AWRADS AND IT CREATES THE IMPRESSION THAT THESE AWARDS ARE ALL FAKE. MY FEAR IS THAT ONE DAY VERY SOON, THE ENTIRE WORLD WOULD NOT RESPECT OUR AWARDEES AND, AS WELL, THE AGENCIES THAT OFFER THE AWARDS.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED WITH GHANA'S FOOTBALL REFEREES. FIFA AND CAF THEY ALL KNOW THAT GHANAIAN REFEREES ARE GENERALLY INTERESTED IN TAKING BRIBES BEFORE MATCHES AND THAT IS WHY OUR REFEREES ARE NOT INVITED TO OFFIIATE AT AFCON AND OTHER INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMNETS. EVEN TODAY REFEREE GASSAMA OF GAMBIA IS KNOWN AS THE BEST REFEREE IN AFRICA, WHILES WE HARDLY HEAR OF GHANAIAN REFERESS DURING GTHE ONGOING AFCON IN GABON. IF THAT NOTORIOUS CULTURE OF BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION CONTINUES IN GHANAIAN SPORTS AND NOW IN GHANAIAN MUSIC THEN IT MEANS WE ARE CREATING OUR OWN FAILURES IN THE INTERNATIONAL ARENA. WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE ARE WE, AND WHY SHOULD WE SINK SO LOW IN INTEGRITY?
