To get a Ph.D., you must have a talent to read and understand and write eloquently and apply the talent in your field of study and specialization. After you earn the doctorate degree, you are supposed to use your talent to do research to further knowledge and engage the talent and knowledge for the betterment of yourself, community, and all humanity.

Many have bought their Ph.D.s and do not have the acumen and training, so have no clue like the moron Majid Michel.

Let us see him try to get a Ph.D., then he can talk of talent. He thinks standing before cameras and reciting what others have written, or may be he has written is talent. He should try feeding people with knowledge, food and developing new products through research, then we can about his talent. MORON!!

That is talent, not just the fine arts and performance.

If the so-called talents are measured by their popularity in the entertainment business in Ghana, how many Ghanaians are in that business?

Nollywood in Nigeria has more engaged but cannot make Nigeria any better for all. We need well and highly-educated people who have developed their thinking capabilities and can apply them intelligently to solve problems. That is where real talent shows; not talking, acting, dancing, singing and thinking you have talent.

We can have millions doing that in Ghana and claim they are talented, but we will never develop until the educated people, including the Ph.D.s, use the talents they developed through education to solve our problems and can see and plan into the future. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is an excellent example unmatched when it comes to Ghana and Africa.

You and Majid Michel are MORONS.

Education is the key and, indeed, qualifications are proofs. It is the inability to apply the knowledge acquired properly that is the problem.

Any moron can claim talent, but a moron cannot be educated and show his qualification. More educated people have shown their talents for the betterment of Ghana than the uneducated ones.

Again Dr. Kwame Nkrumah who led Ghana to independence is the best example.

In Ghana, it's fashionable for people without sufficient education to abuse better educated people for many reasons. On the one hand, there are those who do so out of pure envy. If such people have come into some money or fame, then castigating PhDs, especially those who haven't achieved as much wealth or some cheap fame, is a means of self-affirmation. If you look closely, you'll uncobver an inferiority complex!

On the other hand, there are also those who lack understanding of what a PhD education. Many believe PhDs are trained to solve the world's problems, even end global poverty. But this is a very erroneous view. PhDs are trained to think in novel ways and use their research to generate ideas for solving the world's problems. The so-called professionals- engineers, accountants, medics, architects, technicians, etc- are responsibile for transforming those ideas into real world solutions.

Go to East Asia, it is the technicians who go on to use the skills gained from multinational companies to set up local small-scale manufacturing companies. In time these local companies begin to compete with the multinationals. In contrast, over here, someone becomes a refrigeration technician in a multinational and stays there till retirement or at best leaves early to set up refrigeration repair and installation services. They never transition from repairing to making airconditioners or refrigerators. Meanwhile, they have nothing but utter contempt for more educated people like PhDs, either because they believe they have made more money with little education or blame the PhDs for the country's lack of progress!

My sister who is 7 months pregnant in Ghana couldn't believe it when I told her the least person to attend to a pregnant woman in the developed world is a GP not a protocol nurse.I rest my case!Is it possible to task our dear president to inquire from colleague world leaders (the super powers) why they spent billions of dollars to train PhD students.
