The 2016 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards nominations are out and UK-based duo Kwamz & Flava are Ghana’s only award hopefuls in this year’s event.

The ‘Onane no’ hit makers made the cut into an initial list of nominees for the Best African Act Award category.

Kwamz & Flava are in the category of 10 top notch Africans – a list which is dominated by Nigerian artistes. It will however be halved on October 17 ahead of the main event scheduled for Scotland.

Ghana has reigned for three successive years with London-based Afro-pop singer Fuse ODG the recipient of the Best African Act Award for the 2013 2014 and 2015 editions.

Completing the list of nominees for the Best African Act Award are Mr. Eazi, Wizkid, Eugy, Moelogo, Tekno Miles, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Olamide and Mista Silva.

The 2016 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards is slated for Friday, November 4, 2016 at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro.
