Brother, you just made the same mistake I made few years ago by wishing the dead "damirifa due" but thanks to my Professor, I'd have been walking in same mistake till date. "Damirifa due" goes to the family members and close relations of the dead. It's used to console them of their pain and anguish. Many Ghanaians make that mistake but like a buffalo soldier, I decided delve into my history by asking the elders for further explanation to this and that's when I knew, I had been using it wrongly.

"Yaako, hy3den and damirifa due" are basically the same. They share almost the same meaning and purpose. Get any one who's rich in Ghanaian culture to explain it to you. I made similar mistakes in the past. How do you say to a dead person. "Memaw' damirifa due due, due ne amani hunu etc? It's like telling the dead "sorry for your loss". What has the dead lose? The dead have no clue where they are. It's the family members and friends that have lose a dear one.
