  It's because they don't have respect for God and for themselves. Singing gospel songs comes as a calling, it's a ministry on its own propagating the word of God. Most of these people sing their so called gospel songs because of fame and they think they the voice for it. It's a shame Kofi Sarpong did that with no regret.

  Many are called but few are chosen so, don't consider all these musicians as gospel musicians. They call themselves gospel musicians because, that's where the get their money from. I don't see anything different between these gospel musicians and the secular musicians. They are all the same.
