  Security job is an essential profession but the money involved makes it of very low level job. And that's why Gifty is proud of her dad, that in spite of the little money security job brings home, her father made sure all the kids are being educated. She's not demeaning the job. Rather, she's proud and happy applauding her dad just as I am reading it. I know fathers that sold news papers "weekly spectator, mirror, daily graphic and Ghanaian times" daily to make ends meet. Yet, they made sure their kids are educated. I'll always applaud fathers of this caliber and hit hard on those idiots.

  We all know how security guards are treated in Ghana and African continent. So Gifty has not said anything bad, pls don't insult her. I myself have been security guard and i can tell you with confidence that two of my children are in the tertiary and the last one is about to write her BECE, am proud of them and with the help of God i will not let them down, because i was also educated by my 'illiterate' parent who saw it wisdom to educate me to where i am. We are all aware of some well to do people who have intentionally and irresponsibly refused to send their children to school and fool about and their children have become nuisance and probamatic to the society. Pls respect people opinions.

A feminist is not different from a male chauvinist and i personally think this woman is a female chauvinist who has a problem with men (hate i think- why? because we stand up urinating?-laugh) It is not a man's fault that women generally don't get far- only women can help themselves- the field of this world is an equal playing field- no spoon feeding to anyone-man or woman. believe me if a quality woman wants to be president in ghana and goes through the trenches as the male counterparts do,that woman will be able to win & be president.   Seriously, this fucking girl need to be told in the face that she may have lied her way through to get to where she is now, but she should not distort Ghana's history. Ghana does not suppress females from going to school and the evidence abounds. If any family hindered the girl-child from going to school, then it is due to the family's own ignorance.
  
  Look around you and you will see very prominent females in very high positions in Ghana and they indeed had their childhood education right here in Ghana, way back before the 80s & 90s!
  
  We all had our fair share of the curve-balls that life throws at us but we strive and overcame the obstacles. No need embellishing your story with white lies.

  I congratulate your father but this is no news. Way back in the forties girls have had education to the highest level. Girls getting education is no rocket science and taking up menial jobs to educate your child is not special. The important thing is that you have something doing as a job and since there is no special kind of currency for menial jobs, it's simply not strange for a father to do that. I had education in Southampton University out of my mother's sweat at a "wash-woman" moving from house to house doing the laundry for clients after she retired as a cleaner of a hospital. I worship her. But I won't be hard on any mother unable to find space to do same. Life has a nice way of leading us to our dreams and it will be unfortunate to undertake such comparisons. I won't blame my parents if they were unable to educate me knowing where they came from and their circumstances. So our dear Awo, please take it easy on poor fathers.

  I don't think she mean evil, it depends on where u are coming from some fathers neglect that responsibility and spend their wealth on women only to show up later with irresponsible pastors to settle things when the kids are fully grown. This is a message to people who are struggling to take care of their kids today that there's hope for their efforts one day. It is not wrong for a woman to also do it,,,,,, this depends on the bread winner of the house. Ghanaians should not be too backward in the sense that she is putting across this is her personal history leave her alone she is not forcing anyone to accept it or hang it around their neck. It is about how the Dad struggle to take care of her, it is a fact this has made her develop a certain perception about parental neglect.
