Did your vehicle have no insurance policy? If you answer no to this question, I will recommend your manager's next of kin take you to court for wrongfully causing his death. This is a civil suit for which damages should be sought rather than your desire to sell the "accident vehicle" and give the proceeds to his family.
Of course if the vehicle had insurance coverage, then take the company to task for the full coverage. Then you can hand in any payments to the bereaved family. The bereaved family needs legal representation now.
