Thank God the musicians are becoming strong and independent brands. It is not like first u only rely on media houses to gain your stand in the industry because of social media networks and bloggers. When was the last time someone sold CD on album launch since easy access to internet became a house thing? R2BEES did it, Sark did it, can't tell about EL and others. These guys sometimes don't go to buy air time on radio but uses social media to sell their brand, which somehow doesn't show a strong foundation but it is performing the magic for them at a cheaper cost. They sometimes organize their own shows both local and international- Sarkodie, El.
Multimedia is loosing it credibility on the side of Politics and now on Entertainment, what else.
Media houses watch out on these guys cox they are becoming as powerful as politicians cox the game has change. Example Shatta Wale was tag Bad boy but Gh still love his tunes and he is performing and winning awards all round the world. Gospel music group is putting the same media house in the news line for bad reason they claim, don't forget Sarkodie issue.
Media houses should also know we decide what to listen and not what they want to play hence we can download their songs and pay up to a 100 cedis for their shows. Another side you can think of, is artists shawning an award the entertainment industry classifies as prestigious-R2BEEs. To end it, these guys control 100000s of hearts, eg Sarkodie has 600000+ followers locally and world wide combine on twitter hence I ask, how many people listen to your radio station every day? Remember you are not alone in the media market but they are monopolistic with their style in the entertainment industry.
They have come a long way and it is time you embrace them to sell your media house- criticize with love for they are our own.
